I know. I know. Where have I been? I’ve been here. I’ve been there. I’ve been everywhere and now I am back. I am back and I am going to let you in on a little secret. Post-punk isn’t dead. Nope. With a new Bloc Party rumoured to be coming out later this year, it certainly appears that all that is angular and melodic is still alive and kicking. What’s more is that one particular band that is making a bit of a racket at the moment comes to us not from Leeds, or Manchester or even New York City. They come from down South. When I say South, I mean South Beach. Yup. Miami.

Friends, I present for your aural enticement the sounds of Astari Nite. This quartet has brought forth a healthy blend of the bits of late 70s post-punk and late 80s British indie rock. I have to say that from where I sit, these guys nail it.

Check out these two tracks Gesture Of Submission & Astrid taken from their latest EP entitled Requiem Mass. Miami? Who knew?
